Brief Profile: Dr. Efthikar Ahamed B. has been working as an Assistant Professor since 2015 in the Dept. of English & Comparative Literature, Central University of Kerala.

He bagged a First Class M.A. in English and a First Class M.A. in Translation Studies from University of Calicut and Annamalai University respectively. After qualifying a B.Ed. in English with First Class and Gold Medal, and getting through the National Eligibility Test (NET) in English from the University Grants Commission (UGC), India, he took professional assignments abroad both as a Lecturer in English & a News Correspondent. Based on Abu Dhabi and Dubai, the twin commercial cities of the Middle East, he was able to contribute many human-related stories through his journalistic writings and human-resource-development activities through his teaching endeavors from 1996 to 2005. 

He joined the Higher Education Dept. of the State Govt. of Kerala through the Kerala Public Service Commission in the year 2005 and served the Post-Graduate Depts. of English & Research Centers of KMM Govt. Women’s College Kannur and Govt. Brennen College, Thalassery as an Assistant Professor till 2015.  

He was awarded Ph.D. in English by Kannur University in Feb, 2014 for his research works in the area of Poetry and Comparative Study.   

                He took the additional administrative charges of NSS Programme Officer, Staff Advisor, and Hostel Warden during his service in the State Govt., and his ‘6 Months Communicative English Programme to the Inmates of the Central Prison, Kannur’ – an extension activity under the Community Outreach banner – was a great success.

            He Has 2 books and more than three dozen articles to his credit.
