Brief Profile: Dr. Prasad Pannian served as the founder Head of the Department of English & Comparative Literature, Central University of Kerala during 2009-2011. Recruited by the UPSC, Government of India as an Assistant Professor, Dr. Pannian was teaching under the Directorate of Higher and Technical Education, Union Territory of Pondicherry from 2004 to 2009 before joining the Central University of Kerala as Associate Professor in 2009.  His qualifications include MA in English, MPhil in English, PhD in English and UGC JRF & NET in English. 

Dr. Prasad Pannian has recently been awarded the Edward W. Said Fellowship ( 2018-19) Instituted by the Heyman Centre for Humanities at the Columbia University in the City of New York, USA.  He is also the author of
Edward Said and the Question of Subjectivity (New York: Palgrave Macmillan), 2016. He guest edited two Wink Classic e-books with critical introductions: The Scarlet Letter & The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Hyde, (DC Books, Kottayam, Kerala). He also authored a monograh titled Edward Said: Pourasthyam, Paschaathyam, Karthruthvaththinte Raashtreeyom (Kottayom: SPCS), 2017. He also edited four special volumes [Volume 03 |Issue 01 | Summer 2015 | Democracy and its Discontents), Volume 03 | Issue 02 | Winter 2015 |The Anthropocene and the Human Sciences ), Volume 04 | Issue 01 | Summer 2016|The Public Intellectual  & Volume 04 | Issue 02 | Minding the Body of the International Research Journal of Central University of Kerala, Humanities Circle (ISSN 2321-8010). 

Dr. Pannian was awarded UGC International Grant to visit University of Ottawa and Carlton University, Canada to present his research paper in 2008. He has also been a Fellow/Delegate in various Critical Theory Schools / workshops held at Birkbeck Institute for Humanities, University of London, UK (2012), School of Criticism and Theory, Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, USA (2013), The New School for Social Research’s Institute for Critical Social Inquiry, New York City, USA (2016),
