Planirajan had been working as Associate fellow in Department of Language Technology, Central Institute of Classical Tamil (CICT), Chennai from 03rd May 2010 to 27th Nov 2013 before joining the Central University of Kerala as Assistant Professor in Linguistics in the Department of Linguistics.He specialises in the following areas:Computational Linguistics, Corpus Linguistics, Syntax, Lexicography.Worked as associate Fellow from May 2010 to 27th November 2013 in the Department of Language Technology at Central Institute of Classical Tamil (CICT), Chennai.Working as a Senior Research Assistant – From April. 2008 to April 2010 in Linguistic Data consortium for Indian Languages (LDC-IL) Project at Central Institute of Indian Languages, Manasagangotri, Mysore. Worked as a Resource person -Tamil from May. 2006 – April 2008 date in Lexical build and validation Project at Central Institute of Indian Languages, Manasagangotri, Mysore.Worked as a Guest Lecturer in Tamil From Nov. 2004 – Apr 2006 in Southern Regional Language Centre, Central Institute of Indian Languages, Manasagangotri, Mysore.Worked as a Project Associate from Aug –2000 – Oct 2004 in the project Resource Centre for Indian Languages Technology Solution - Tamil (RCILTS) at Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Anna University, Chennai.Worked as a Project Associate from 1996-1998 in the Project of Pongal-2000, which included digitizing, word segmenting and encoding of Tamil Texts using SGML at the Institute of Asian Studies, Chennai. He has written 4 research articles and published 2 books.
